According to Arizona state law a judge may not issue a non-modifiable spousal maintenance award. However, the parties can agree to a non-modifiable spousal maintenance award. Sometimes this is in the interest of both parties as it guarantees one spouse’s support for an identifiable length of time and limits the support to be paid for the other party.
